12 year old British racing driver hailing from Woking, Surrey, UK. Kanishk’s racing journey began at the age of 7 when his father took him to Surbiton Raceway, where his innate talent behind the wheel became evident. Despite it being his first time in a kart, Kanishk astounded everyone by leading the pack and surpassing more experienced drivers.
Kanishk’s ambition led him to participate in local racing clubs such as Daytona Raceway and Buckmore kart circuit, where he gained valuable experience and competed alongside like-minded drivers. At the age of 8, his exceptional driving skills caught the attention of Paul Munn, a former F3 and Formula Renault driver. Kanishk was offered a place in the Paul Munn Racing Driver program (PMR) and obtained his Motorsport UK national license.
Kanishk's racing odyssey commenced at the tender age of 7 when his father introduced him to the Surbiton Raceway. Kanishk's prowess on the track caught the eye of Paul Munn, an experienced F3 and Formula Renault driver. At the age of 8, he earned a spot in the prestigious Paul Munn Racing Driver program (PMR) as an IAME Cadet racing driver, after obtaining his Motorsport UK national license. In his debut professional race, Kanishk claimed the "Best Novice" award, outperforming seasoned competitors. Over the next two years, his skills flourished, securing podium finishes and race wins, marking significant progress in his racing journey.
At 11 years old, Kanishk's racing prowess took him to new heights as he joined Oliver Rowland Motorsport (ORM) under the guidance of the current Mahindra Formula E driver Oliver Rowland. In 2022 and 2023, he competed in prestigious events like the IAME Euro Series, British National Kart Championships, and more. With remarkable achievements, including a podium finish (P2) in the IAME Euro Series in Italy and a win (demoted to P5) in Belgium, Kanishk established himself as a formidable force in the world of karting. The young speedster's journey continues to unfold, promising more exhilarating moments in the world of motorsport.
A Stellar 2021
In 2021, Kanishk’s talent and dedication culminated in outstanding achievements. He dominated the Shenington Kart Club IAME Cadet Championship, emerging as the champion. His exceptional performance earned him a spot in the IAME World Finals held at the LeMans circuit in France. Despite stiff competition, Kanishk showcased his potential by securing a best finish of 3rd in one of the heats and finishing 4th in the Pre-finals. This successful year laid the foundation for his burgeoning racing career.
Ascending in 2022
2022 witnessed Kanishk’s meteoric rise as he climbed higher in the racing ranks. Competing in the UK, he ranked 9th in the IAME Cadet category of the British National Championship. On the international stage, he qualified for the IAME European Winter Cup held in Valencia, Spain, securing a respectable 6th position after starting from 16th in the finals. Notably, he participated in two rounds of the European Championship, held at Mariembourg and Genk in Belgium, where he achieved a superheat victory starting from the 14th grid position.
Triumphs in 2023
The year 2023 has been an extraordinary one for Kanishk, characterized by remarkable feats on the track. In the IAME Euro Series held at Franciacorta, Italy, he showcased his prowess, clinching a podium finish (P2) in an exhilarating competition. In the subsequent round at Mariembourg, Belgium, Kanishk displayed tenacity and skill, achieving a thrilling victory (demoted to P5 due to nose cone) despite challenging circumstances. Additionally, he secured another podium (P3) at Zuera, Spain, consolidating his reputation as a rising star in the world of karting. His remarkable journey continues with immense promise and determination.
